چکیده

In the context of the semantic web; product knowledge is represented as product ontologies in it’s conceptual level. Product ontology construction, integration, and evolution greatly depend on the availability of well-defined semantics and powerful reasoning tools, as to facilitate machine understandability of web resources. In order to capture the semantic of a complicated product data model, the expressive language ALCNHR+K(D) is introduced not only can represent knowledge about concrete domain and constraints, but also, rule in some sense of a closed world semantic model hypothesis. This paper investigates an extension to description logic based knowledge reasoning, by means of decomposing and rewriting complicated hybrid concepts into partitions. We present an approach that automatically decomposes the whole knowledge base into a description logic compatible and constraints solver. Our argument is two-fold. First, complex description logics with powerful representation ability and second is how to reason with the combination of inferences from distributed heterogeneous reasoner.

INTEGRATING CASE-BASED REASONING, KNOWLEDGE-BASED APPROACH AND TSP ALGORITHM FOR MINIMUM TOUR FINDING

Imagine you have traveled to an unfamiliar city. Before you start your daily tour around the city, you need to know a good route. In Network Theory (NT), this is the traveling salesman problem (TSP). A dynamic programming algorithm is often used for solving this problem. However, when the road network of the city is very complicated and dense, which is usually the case, it will take too long fo...

Mereotopology for product modelling A new framework for product modeling based on logic

Mereotopology is the branch of logic that treats the qualitative formalisation of parthood and connection relations between entities. Although it has apparently not yet found use in spatial reasoning for designed product modelling, the author proposes that it is well suited to the task. This paper introduces mereotopology and discusses some of the principles guiding the development of design me...

Description Logic and Rules the CHR Way Extended Abstract

The challenges of the Semantic Web endeavour in knowledge representation and reasoning prompted a wealth of research in combining description logic (DL) as ontology languages (e.g. OWL) with logic programming for rule-based reasoning. General issues of combining and integrating formalisms have to be faced such as the type of combination, conceptual simplicity and tractability. Even though const...

Reasoning about Assembly Sequences Based on Description Logic and Rule

Reasoning about assembly sequences is useful for identifying the feasibility of assembly sequences according to the assembly knowledge. Technologies used for reasoning about assembly sequences have crucial impacts on the efficiency and automation of assembly sequence planning. Description Logic (DL) is well-known for representing and reasoning about knowledge of static application domains; it o...
